I am a person that loves numbers sorry, but I just can’t help it. What do you expect I’m an accountant? When I first began following the economy I was 10 years old. Noting on a pad the monthly unemployment rates, inflation, interest rates and quarterly GDP; but I’m not just a numbers guy. Many people have a preconceived idea of what an accountant should be. The guy that has his desk filled with spreadsheets, calculators, and pencils. Right? Well, that is not me at all.

Let me tell you my story in a nutshell…

I am a Veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, serving from 1988 to 1992 and in The First Gulf War.

One of the things I have tried to do with my career is to become a well-rounded, accountant/finance professional. I started off as a Junior Accountant and stayed in straight accounting and or blended roles for about 7 years. Boring!

So I decided to give my career a little flavor by steering my career into budgets and analysis in finance departments. I did that for another 10 years adding financial reporting to the mix, but during that entire time I built a small part-time accounting/bookkeeping business.

That business included tax practice where I did accounting bookkeeping, individual, corp. & partnership income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and fuel mileage tax. I also provided payroll services to my clients, cost accounting services where I would help my clients cost their services and products so that they can provide the most competitive pricing in the market. Helping serve others is what I’m all about.

I’ve also been hired by lawyers to do forensic accounting. Having this business has taught me the following: problem-solving, communication & presentation of financial information with non-financial people and made me a well-rounded accountant.

I look forward to my future endeavors in the accounting arena as I have a long way to go to serve others, increase business revenue while helping companies reach financial success!
